Archdiocese prepares to release sex abuse files
MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Archdioces is preparing to release hundreds of pages, with disturbing details about priests and sex abuse.
In his weekly letter to local Catholics, Archbishop Jerome Listecki said there are some terrible things described in many of the documents. To anyone choosing to read the personnel files, Listecki said, prepare to be shocked.
The documents about what priests did, and what church leaders did or did not do - is part of the archdiocese's 3-year-old bankruptcy.
It's rumored that details will be revealed about how church officials in Milwaukee shuffled abusive priests from one parish or school to another, never disclosing their history.
