Flights delayed nationwide, but Milwaukee seems untouched
MILWWAUKEE - It's something you might not expect on a summer day, flight delays.
But on the first day of Summer, Southwest Airlines ended up canceling more than 50 flight and delaying about 200 others because of a systerm wide computer outage, and problems persisted Saturday morning.
Southwest spokeswoman Michelle Agnew says the computers are running again, but flights would continue to be impacted Saturday.
Mitchell International Airport spokesman Harold Mester says fortunately, it seems that Milwaukee has no flight delays or cancellations as a result of the Southwest Airlines issues.
As always, though, Mester said passengers should check with their individual airlines before leaving for the airport.
