Husband of Jen Sebena ruled competent to stand trial for her murder
MILWAUKEE - A 30-year-old man accused of fatally shooting his wife, a Milwaukee-area police officer, has been ruled competent to stand trial.
Benjamin G. Sebena is charged with first-degree intentional homicide in the death of 30-year-old Jennifer Sebena. He pleaded not guilty by reason of mental disease or defect.
Results of a second mental examination found that while he has significant mental health issues, that doctor found no support for such a plea.
"Both doctors recognized there are significant mental issues, related to PTSD and traumatic brain injury, among other issues," explained Judge David Borowski.
Jennifer Sebena was an officer with the Wauwatosa Police Department. She was killed Christmas Eve.
Sebena's trial has been slated to start on July 8th at the Milwaukee County Courthouse.
