WEST ALLIS -- It all started with an argument with a neighbor in a big apartment complex. A short time later, officers and even the SWAT team had the place surrounded trying to convince the man to come out.

Brenda Kroening lives in the neighborhood.

"Their guns [were] drawn," said Kroening, "and they had a swat team come in."

Kroening said she was outside her apartment complex at 106th and Dakota around 3:30 p.m. when an officer told her to leave.

"They told us to get back in our apartment immediately." Kroening said. That's when she became very nervous.

"I came out here and saw the three cop cars but nothing else," she said. "[It] was blocked off so I didn’t think of anything until I went outside."

What she saw outside was an armored vehicle and officers with rifles taking a defensive stance. Officers took one man into custody, it's not clear if he'll face any charges.

Kroening said this is not the Father's Day she was expecting.

"Never have I seen anything like this."
