Police get involved after dad spanks daughter
SLINGER - A dad ended up answering questions from police officers after he decided to spank his young daughter over a temper tantrum she was throwing.
The dad had just picked the girl up from daycare. She was misbehaving. He decided to pull over and spank her on the side of the road.
"A citizen saw that happen and was concerned about what was going on and contacted our office," said Slinger Police Chief Dean Schmidt.
Police talked to the dad and consulted with social services. Ultimately they decided there was no problem with what the father did.
Schmidt says the caller did the right thing by reporting what she saw. "It gives us the chance to see what's going on and what the history is. If there is nothing to it then we leave it at that."
