Honor Flight hosts Korean and WWII veterans
WASHINGTON D.C. - A few sprinkles gave way to sunshine for veterans aboard the latest Honor Flight, which escorted ten Korean War veterans and 103 World War Two vets to the nation's capitol on Saturday.
Paula Nelson, who accompanied the group, said they also had a first.
This group got to see a 15 minute performance by the Marine Corps Drill Team, up close and personal.
The veterans were to conclude the day with a trip to the tomb of the unknown soldier.
The public, as always, was encouraged to attend their homecoming as the Honor Flight was scheduled to arrive at Mitchell International Airport at 8:30pm.
