CHICAGO - An academic dentistry group is advocating something Wisconsin likes to both produce and eat.

The Academy of General Dentistry says that eating cheese will help you battle tooth decay.

The study claims that cheese lessens cavities in teeth because of more alkaline on teeth which has an effect on plaque acid, and it helps create a protective film around teeth.

“The higher the pH level is above 5.5, the lower the chance of developing cavities,” explains Vipul Yadav, MDS, lead author of the study in a statement.
