Court for Messmer teacher accused of sexually assaulting students
MILWAUKEE - A teacher accused of sexually assaulting two teenage students was expected to appear in court Friday in Milwaukee.
Megan Garland, a 28-year-old teacher at Messmer High School, was expected to be charged for a second time after another student came forward to police.
According to police, a 15-year old boy filed a report earlier this week claiming Garland sexually abused him.
The Milwaukee County District Attorney's Office already charged her for an incident that allegedly happened at Destiny High School with a 14-year-old boy.
The two were there for a special event.
After days of reaching out to school administrators, the school's president opened up about the accusations and the teacher's behavior.
"Had we known anything like this was happening we would have handled it immediately and appropriately," said Michael Bartels, Messmer's president.
"We do not condone giving rides in your private vehicles...none of that should be going on."
Garland had been receiving medical attention after trying to take her own life.
