Messmer teacher accused of sexual assault of 14-year-old student
MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Police are investigating an alleged sexual assault of a 14-year-old student at Messmer High School by a teacher at Messmer.
According to Sgt. Mark Stanmeyer with Milwaukee Police, the alleged sexual assault of the boy that happened around 6:30 p.m. on May 23 in a car parked in the parking lot of Destiny High School located at 7210 N. 76th Street.
The teacher, a 28-year-old woman, and the victim are not associated with Destiny High School and were there for a special event.
The teacher suffered non-life threatening injuries after attempting suicide at the scene. She is currently in police custody at a medical facility for her injuries, and has not yet been charged.
Messmer High School released a statement Friday afternoon -
We, at Messmer High School, are disturbed to learn about an alleged incident that occurred recently involving a Messmer High School teacher and a student. The teacher has been suspended, pending the Milwaukee Police investigation. At Messmer, we are deeply committed to the safety and privacy of our students. Our hearts and prayers go out to the families involved. At this time, we will continue to cooperate with the Milwaukee Police. As this investigation is ongoing Messmer Catholic Schools have no further comment.
