3 men rob a Brookfield bank Thursday afternoon

BROOKFIELD - On Thursday just after 1 p.m., Brookfield Police were called to a robbery at the Guaranty Bank at 12655 W. Capitol Dr.

When police arrived, they found the getaway car was found in the front of the bank. A dye pack that had been attached to the money had detonated in the car/

"According to witnesses 3 African American male suspects entered the bank with their faces covered," Brookfield Police said. "At least one semi-automatic handgun was displayed."

Bank employees were ordered to the ground and two suspects jumped the counters and took money.

The car the men originally tried to flee in a silver Chevrolet Lumina, but that was the car that was abandoned. The men then ran away from that car and got into another car that had two other occupants.

"This vehicle was described as a black 4 door midsize Hyundai or Honda," Brookfield Police said. "This vehicle then fled north on 127 street. More money and evidence was located at 124 Street and Congress Ave."
