One person dead in car vs. train crash near Sturtevant

STURTEVANT - Amtrak officials said there has been a crash involving a train and a car near Sturtevant. The crash happened around 2:20 p.m. on Tuesday near Roberts and Kraut.

Flight for Life has been called to the scene. Amtrak said the train was traveling from Chicago to Milwaukee, and has around 100 passengers on board. The company said no one on the train was injured.

The male driver of the car died on scene. Witnesses said they saw the car driving between the tracks, toward the train.

The crash has caused delays for Amtrak, so if you are traveling by train, you should check your schedule before you leave.
