Police begin second investigation into Catholic priest
WAUWATOSA - Police in Wauwatosa have opened a second investigation into a priest who has been accused of "inappropriate contact with children."
Father Robert Marcisek has been removed from St. Pius in Wauwatosa.
"Both the Archdiocese of Milwaukee and Marsicek's religious order, the Society of the Divine Savior, known as the Salvatorians, said they were unaware of a new probe," said Annysa Johnson with the Journal Sentinel. "And the principal of Wauwatosa Catholic School, where an earlier allegation was raised, did not return a telephone call seeking comment."
According to the police report, Marcisek was suspended after a co-worker and teacher said he had inappropriately touched a student.
"Marsicek had a history of questionable contact with children during his 12 years at St. Pius X and had been counseled repeatedly by the archdiocese and the Salvatorians to stop touching the children, according to documents obtained by police," said Johnson. "Both the archdiocese and Salvatorians had known since May 2012 that Marsicek was under investigation in Sacramento, Calif., for alleged sexual abuse of a minor in the 1980s to 1990s."
Archbishop Listecki commented on the case in April, saying the church should have possibly removed Marcisek earlier.
