Diminishing snow cover is hurting ecosystem
MILWAUKEE - Snow cover has been on the decline in the Northern Hemisphere since 1970, according to Lee Bergquist with the Journal Sentinel.
"The loss has the potential to greatly affect the ecosystems beneath these blankets of insulation," Bergquist writes. "In a report published this month in the Frontiers in Ecology and the Environment, scientists from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Wyoming said the changes could benefit some species, but put many plants and animals at risk."
Bergquist will join us to talk about the issue. Read the full story here.
