Man injured in daylight gun battle outside West Milwaukee bar
WEST MILWAUKEE - Authorities are investigating a gun battle in broad daylight that was all caught on camera.
One person was hurt. No one has been arrested.
It happened at about 6:00 p.m. Wednesday night on Greenfield Avenue in West Milwaukee, just outside Greg Pokorny's bar, the Elbow Room.
"About 6:00, I heard some gun shots out here, and I looked up at the camera," said Pokorny.
He saw the driver of a red car back up and get out.
Then someone from a nearby apartment opened fire.
Both men ducked, then the driver returned fire.
Just then, it appeared someone on the sidewalk got hit in the head with a bullet.
He grabbed his head and made his way to the car while the driver fled the scene.
"I called 911 and told everybody to stay inside," Pokorny told TODAY'S TMJ4's Melissa McCrady.
Another camera caught a man running and ducking in Pokorny's parking lot.
"It's terrible. It shouldn't be this way, where a person's got to wory about getting out of his car in my parking lot. It's scary."
Pokorny has had his bar at that location for two decades.
This is the first time he's witnessed something like this.
