MILWAUKEE – The United Steelworkers have said that members of Local 1343 rejected a proposed six year labor agreement and that the union will resume negotiations with Caterpillar for a new contract.
"The USW is instructing all members of Local 1343 to continue reporting for work at Caterpillar as scheduled," according to the United Steelworkers.
According to the Journal Sentinel, the agreement would have "frozen wages but provided additional protection against permanent job losses."
