State DOJ: Peshtigo victim died of stab wounds

PESHTIGO - New information has been released into the murder of a domestic violence center director. The State Department of Justice says the victim, 45-year-old Patricia "Trish" Waschbisch, was stabbed to death in her Peshtigo home. Her body was discovered Sunday night.

A person of interest, 49-year-old Brent Kaempf, who was reportedly dating Waschbisch at the time of her murder, is being questioned in connection with the case. He remains in the Milwaukee County Jail, and is likely to be charged with first-degree intentional homicide by the end of the week.

The DOJ says Kaempf is likely to return to Marinette County within the next few days and is likely to appear in court Thursday or Friday.

Kaempf was found in Wauwatosa on Monday where he was taken into custody.

Waschbisch was the director of Rainbow House, a domestic violence center in Marinette.

A criminal complaint is expected to be avaiable Wednesday. Police say the victim's boyfriend will make a court apperance later this week.
