VIRGINIA BEACH - Former Green Bay Packers receiver Donald Driver has been invited to the White House Correspondents' Dinner on Saturday.

Driver and his wife Benita will be attending the event as a guest of CBN News.

“It’s an honor to attend this amazing event,” Driver said. “I hope now that I’m retired, President Obama will forgive me for beating the Bears so many times.”

According to Lammi Sports Management, proceeds from the event go toward scholarships and awards that recognize aspiring and accomplished journalists. Portions of the event will be broadcast on MSNBC and C-SPAN.
