Report of body found in Milwaukee River proves to be false alarm
MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Fire Department says that after investigating their initial report about a body found in the Milwaukee River, no body was discovered.
A deputy fire chief told Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Jay Sorgi that someone at a high rise apartment near the Locust Street bridge told officials they spotted what they believed to be a body in the river.
Fire Department crews went to the scene while police went to the apartment where the spotter lives.
After they found the spot where the body reportedly was, fire crews found foam and debris, but no body.
