WAUWATOSA - Wauwatosa Police say that they were holding bag checks at Wauwatosa West High School after a threat placed on a bathroom wall.

Police say that the superintendent sent a message to parents saying his department was made aware of the threat, but they didn't know when the threat was made.

A secretary at Tosa West told Newsradio 620 WTMJ's Michelle Richards that students' backpacks were being searched as they enter the school this morning.

Police were to increase their presence at the school Thursday.

Parents were reportedly given the opportunity to decide whether to send their children to school or not.
