MILWAUKEE - Airports around the country have had some delays because air traffic controllers are being furloughed to save money.

Flights are moving smoothly for the most part in Milwaukee, but staffing issues behind the scenes and in the tower are causing issues already.

Federal cuts mean furloughs for the 39 controllers who staff the tower.

Travelers from Chicago have already seen delays to and from Milwaukee on Tuesday.

Union reps say the issues will get worse before they get better. Many air traffic controllers get to pick their furlough day, and they're waiting until the end of the week. That could spell trouble for travelers.
