CUDAHY - A "strong odor" was detected in the halls of Cudahy High School Friday morning, and it caused enough alarm to call the fire department.

"The fire department's hazmat team identified the source of the odor was spilled hot sauce mixed with a cleaning agent the custodian used," said the school district.

The students and staff participated in a "soft lockdown" to help air out the building. All school operations resumed to normal just before 11 a.m. Friday.
