"Threatening message" found at St. Francis High School

ST. FRANCIS - According to St. Francis High School, a threatening message has been found at St. Francis High School.

St. Francis School District Administration and the St. Francis Police Department are currently investigating the threat.

Students and staff were released at the end of the school day.

"All High School after-school activities including all sports practices and tonight’s drama performance of THE WIZ are cancelled," the school said. "Performance dates and times will be updated as information becomes available on the St. Francis High School website at www.stfrancisschools.org."

According to the school district, measures have been taken to ensure the safety of all students and staff and as a result school will be open on Friday.

"Threats to the student body, staff, and/or facilities are taken very seriously," the school continued. "Individuals who make such threats will face considerable disciplinary action up to and including expulsion and criminal charges. Any student having information pertaining to this event is encouraged to notify the St. Francis Police Department (414) 481-2232."
