WATERFORD - Communities west of I-94 in Racine County have been issued a flood warning, and the Village of Waterford will be providing property owners sandbags.

"Village property owners may pick up filled sandbags at the Village of Waterford Public Works building located at 801 Ela Avenue on pallets for pick up at any time on a first come first serve basis beginning Wednesday, April 17 at 4:00 p.m.," the village said. "Residents are responsible for loading their own sandbags."

The rain forecasted in the next three days may cause the river level to rise above the 2008 flood conditions. Waterford also explained that due to strong water currents, residents are strongly encouraged not to boat on the Fox River.
