WAUWATOSA - A doctor at the at the Medical College of Wisconsin says ricin is very deadly.  But mailing it probably isn't all that effective.

A letter mailed to Mississippi Senator Roger Wicker tested positive for ricin.

"It can be quite dangerous, especially if injected," said Dr. Mark Kostic.

But the key is that for it to be bad, you have to get it in your body, either by injection or swallowing it.

"We don't really know how much it would take to swallow," Kostic said.

"If it's just a bit in an envelope that nobody intentionally swallows, then it's probably not a big deal at all."
