MILWAUKEE - Washington County deputies found bomb-making material in a home in Farmington Friday morning, April 5.
According to Washington County Sgt. Randy Boudry, deputies were called to a home and found that a 22-year-old man from West Bend burned his face Thursday while allegedly "manufacturing pipe bombs."
"Deputies observed what appeared to be components of explosive devices within the home and evacuated the house and immediate area," said Boudry.
The Milwaukee County Bomb Disposal Unit was sent to the scene and found the bombs, which were in the process of being built.
"Due to the rural nature of where the house is located, there were no nearby homes or area residents that were in danger at the location these devices were found. The devices were collected as evidence once they were determined to be safe," Boudry explained.
The ongoing investigation is being conducted by member of the Washington County Sheriff's Office with assistance from Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms (ATF) and the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office.
