MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Department has closed up two freeway ramps to avoid backups due to big demand at the Milwaukee County Zoo.

With many kids off of school, lots parents are taking them to school, and traffic backups are long to enter the Zoo.

To make sure backups didn't spill onto the freeway, Sheriff's crews temporarily shut down U.S. 45 northbound at Bluemound Road and I-94 westbound at Highway 100.

Drivers can exit U.S. 45 at North Avenue and Watertown Plank Road.

Construction is also leading to backups near the Zoo on Bluemound Road and Wisconsin Avenue.
