UNINVERSAL CITY, Calif. - A changing of the guard will happen on your television with the show airing after TODAY'S TMJ4's "Tonight at 10."

Jimmy Fallon will take over the role as host of the Tonight Show, replacing Jay Leno who will depart in the spring of 2014.

“Congratulations Jimmy. I hope you're as lucky as me and hold on to the job until you're the old guy. If you need me, I'll be at the garage," said Leno in a statement.

“I’m really excited to host a show that starts today instead of tomorrow," joked Fallon.

The show will move to New York, where it originated back in 1957.
