It's a new way for drivers to go west to Madison from Milwaukee over the flooded waters in Jefferson County, and road workers should have it ready to go into effect later this week.
"We've had this plan on the books for over a week now," says State Department of Transportation Secretary Frank Busalacchi's plan B.
What is it? To move westbound traffic to part of Eastbound 94.
"We're going to build a crossover," states Busalacchi, and crews are already constructing that lane to get drivers to the eastbound span.
"We'll have traffic on both sides of the eastbound lane. We hope to have that crossover complete by the end of the week."
That crossover will mean one lane eastbound, one lane westbound.
Which means, according to Busalacchi, "you're going to have backup here. This is going to be a bottleneck."
That's a lot different, though, than taking a detour to Beloit, then up to Madison, which is what drivers have had to deal with for the last few days.
Busalacchi states he didn't like forcing drivers to go 100 miles out of their way, but inconvenience wasn't the main problem. It was the rising water levels.
"My concern, and the department's concern, has been keeping people safe," says Busalacchi.
Already, workers have begin constructing the new crossover, so there's only one lane of I-94 eastbound right now going through the flood zone.

Federal Assessors in More Counties Today
As damage figures climb above $200,000,000 from the floods in Wisconsin, the Federal Emergency Management Agency continue to tour Southeastern Wisconsin to determine the possibility of disaster area status on a county-by-county basis.
Jefferson, Sheboygan and Ozaukee Counties have not officially been declared disaster areas yet, but FEMA officials could discover reasons to give that aid when they tour those counties today.

Dangerous Stuff in Flooded Areas
Flood waters come with plenty of destruction, but there's a more quiet danger with e.coli bacteria.
A 13-year-old boy in Fond du Lac may be infected with e.coli after he helped his mom scrub their flooded basement.

Could Gays Mills Move?
A community meeting in the Crawford County community of Gays Mills gave people a chance to consider their options after two flooding disasters in 10 months.
Some want to investigate relocating the town farther away from the shores of the Kickapoo River.
