MILWAUKEE - The high temperature Tuesday at Mitchell International Airport hit 41 degrees, only the second temperature above 40 this month. The warmest for March in Milwaukee was 43 degrees set back on March 10.

The high temperature in Green Bay hit 40 degrees, the only temperature in the 40s all month for that city. The stronger March sun angle is starting to help against the constant cold air bombardment from the north. We could see the warmer temperature jump to fifty degrees by the weekend.

If we actually hit 50 degrees in Milwaukee on Saturday, it will be the warmest temperature for March and the first 50 degree maximum in a long time. Do you remember the last 50 degree or warmer day in Milwaukee? If you going back to last year or before winter in your mind, you would be mistaken. The last temperature above 50 degrees occurred on Jan. 29 of 2013 when it hit 60 degrees. There were also two days in the low-fifties that month on the 11th and 12th.

Now that 60 degree temperature in January wasn’t the warmest temperature of the meteorological winter, although one would think it would have to be since 60s are rare in the three winter months. Winters warmest occurred on Dec. 3 when the maximum hit 65 degrees!
