NASHOTAH - Two people are dead after a horrific head-on collision near Nashotah. It happened on Highway 16 on Sunday around 12:30. Police say two adults in a black Nissan were eastbound. They died after their car crossed over onto the westbound lanes of Highway 16.

They have been identified as Glenda Skalecki of Oconomowoc and Karen Gulley of West Bend.

Lt. Thom Moerman of the Waukesha County Sheriff's Department says one adult male and two children were injured in the crash. They were taken to Froedert Hospital. The extent of their injuries is unknown.

"It's sad. It's horrible, and tragic," says Hartland resident Cindy Kowis. She and her husband saw more ambulances and police cars than they've ever seen.

"Well, we came around the corner and then it was just like instantly stopped - lots of brake lights and stuff," recounts Kowis.

Lieutenant Moerman believes the passengers were wearing their seatbelts and no one was ejected from the car.
