Charges possible Monday in beating of Racine Co. teenager
MOUNT PLEASANT - Charges could come Monday in the case of a 17-year-old victim who was reportedly beaten within inches of his life.
A 44-year-old dad was being held at the Racine County Jail accused of the violent attack.
"Not good," suspect George Schram says. "Not good at all. Too unsafe."
That's what he had to say about a group of teenagers who were chased and beaten not far from his Mount Pleasant home.
Now, the 44-year-old is behind bars and accused of that very assault.Investigators think Schram and his 19-year-old son, Kevin, beat the victim with a baseball bat. An unnamed 16-year-old has also been arrested.
The attack left the victim with a four-inch gash to his head. The victim talked to TODAY'S TMJ4 last week.
"I hope that the police get these people and they get what they deserve."
He tells TODAY'S TMJ4 as many as 20 people attacked him. His car reflects the violence.
Sunday, a crew went back to Schram's house. A woman that identified herself as his daughter said both her brother and dad were still behind bars.
"He wasn't beat up intentionally. He didn't get hit as much as they're telling everybody."
Joe Kielsar lives three doors down. A father himself, he's blown away by the allegations against his neighbor.
"You don't know who is living around you I guess, you know?"
The father and son have not officially been charged, though the Mount Pleasant Police Department is referring them for aggravated battery with a dangerous weapon, among a list of other things.
