Milwaukee sophomore named best H.S. girls hoops player in Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Divine Savior Holy Angels sophomore Arike Ogunbowale s the Associated Press player of the year for Wisconsin high school girls basketball.
The award was announced Wednesday.
Ogunbowale averaged 20.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, 4.5 assists and 3.1 steals per game for the Dashers. The 5-foot-9 guard/forward led DSHA to a 21-4 mark and the Division 1 sectional semifinals.
Ogunbowale was a unanimous pick by a panel of statewide media for the AP first team.
She is joined by Baraboo senior Samantha Terry and juniors Mackenzie Latt of Sussex Hamilton, Jessica Lindstrom of Superior and Gabrielle Ortiz of Racine Prairie.
Green Bay Notre Dame's Sara Rohde was named Wisconsin AP coach of the year. The Tritons went 22-6 and won their first WIAA Division 2 state title since 2001.
