Mayor Barrett asks residents to do their share of spring cleaning
MILWAUKEE - It doesn't feel like it today, but spring is here and the City of Milwaukee hopes residents will do some spring cleaning.
As the weather warms up, city officials hope people pick up trash and other debris that's accumulated in their neighborhoods over the winter. The mayor says it's not a lot of work if everyone pitches in.
"This is something that’s important to our city,” Mayor Barrett said. “Do a great job."
The group Keep Greater Milwaukee Beautiful can help residents coordinate their neighborhood cleanups. They can provide cleaning supplies and tools like rakes and shovels.
