  • Tuesday night will be partly cloudy, windy and cold with lows in the single digits and wind chills of -5 to -12.

  • Wednesday will be partly cloudy with scattered flurries or light snow showers with highs struggling to hit 20 and wind chills near 0 all day as winds gust to 30 mph.

  • Wind chills drop back to -10 for Wednesday night. The wind finally diminishes for Thursday, but despite a lot of sun, highs remain in the upper 20s.

  • Friday is sunny and in the mid 30s and upper 30s by Saturday.

  • We are watching a huge storm for Sunday, but at this time it looks to be staying south with just a glancing blow of a rain snow mix as highs get to 40...stay tuned.

  • Today marks the first day of spring as the vernal equinox occurs at 6:02 am CDT. Henry Van Dyke wrote β€œThe first day of spring is one thing, but the first spring day is another. The difference between them is sometimes as great as a month.”

  • Those are wise words this year as the predicted high temperature for Milwaukee today is only twenty-one degrees which is twenty-three degrees below normal for the date. You may recall that in our unprecedented warm month of March last year the high temperature on this date was a balmy eighty-three degrees.

  • The winds will continue a bit brisk Tuesday also along with a few flurries at times.

  • Although we are very cold for this time of the year, today will not be the coldest spring day on record for Milwaukee. That distinction goes to March 20th of 1885 when the maximum temperature was an unbelievable six degrees!

  • If the high temperature actually comes in at twenty-one degrees today, it will be the fifth coldest spring maximum temperature on record that dates back to 1850. The second coldest spring day occurred in 1872 with a high temperature of only sixteen degrees. The third coldest was a chilly eighteen degrees back in 1965, and the fourth coldest a chilly twenty degrees recorded in 1899.
