New Pizza Man to include parking, most of original menu
MILWUAKEE - Construction crews on Milwaukee's east side will focus their work on the new Pizza Man restaurant.
The owner says that much of the food and feel of the original location, which burned down in 2010, will return, but with one critical difference.
"We're going to have parking," said owner Michael Amidzich to TODAY'S TMJ4's Melissa McCrady on "Live at Daybreak."
The original location for the landmark east side restaurant did not have parking.
However, much of the trademark cuisine and drink will remain in the new place which opens in June at the new location on North Downer and East Belleview.
"85% of the menu will stay the same," said Amidzich.
"Where we were kind of weak at the other restaurant where salads and vegetarian dishes. We're going to focus on improving (those)."
Additionally, Amidzich said the restaurant would have a new gluten-free pizza.
Other amenities from the original restaurant will return as well.
"I want to assure everyone right now, we will have two big heavy doors. It seems to be a very popular item that people missed about the old restaurant," said Amidzich.
"We're going to try and capture as much as we can of the old feel. It's a bigger restaurant, but it's going to be broken up into smaller pockets."
