MILWAUKEE - Former archbishop of Milwaukee, and current New York Cardinal, Timothy Dolan has been eliminated from the Sweet Sistine pope tournament.
"Dolan bested Boston Cardinal Sean O'Malley in the first round of the tongue-in-cheek tourney posted by the folks at Religion News Service who, in all seriousness, are covering the papal transition extensively," said Annysa Johnson with the Journal Sentinel. "More than 22,000 online votes were cast en route to the Sacred Semifinals, where Ouellet will take on Brazilian Joao Braz de Aviz, and Milan's Angelo Scola will face off against Nigeria's John Onaiyekan."
Cardinal Dolan was ousted by Canadian Cardinal Marc Ouellet. The Royal News Service put together the bracket to show who they think is most likely to succeed Pope Benedict XVI.
