Brewers face spring training 'road game' vs. Diamondbacks
MARYVALE, Ariz. - The Milwaukee Brewers get a true spring training road game experience Thursday against the Arizona Diamondbacks, despite the fact they're at their home park in Maryvale. Mark Rogers (pictured) will take the mound.
You can hear the contest starting at 1:55 p.m. with Bob Uecker and Joe Block calling the game on Newsradio 620 WTMJ.
The Brewers, a team with a dozen of its best players performing in the World Baseball Classic, is coming off a 7-6 win over the Seattle Mariners on Wednesday.
His Sports Central co-hort, "Sports Geek" Jeff Falconio focuses on the Wednesday performance of starting pitcher Mike Fiers, someone who will be counted on to extend his dominant second half of 2012.
Pitching and power tend to be two of the three keys of great baseball teams, and Milwaukee has young talent in both categories. The Journal Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt and Todd Rosiak feature the power part of the equation in prospect Khris Davis.
It's another revealing stat which shows the Brewers' power capabilities and how much of a home-run ballpark Miller Park is.
