Wis. students advance to mock trial semifinals
MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- Students from a dozen Wisconsin high schools are set to converge on the Dane County courthouse next week for the state bar's annual mock trial competition semifinals.
Students from La Crosse Logan, River Falls, River Valley, DC Everest, Kettle Moraine, Rhinelander, Lodi, Xavier, Brookfield Academy, Shorewood, Superior and Lincoln high schools will participate.
The top two teams will advance to the finals in the state Supreme Court on Monday. The winners will represent Wisconsin at the National Mock Trial Championship in Indianapolis in May.
The mock trial program gives students a chance to act as attorneys and witnesses in a court case developed by state bar members.
