RACINE, Wis. - An investigation into possible wrongdoing in the recall elections last year has led to charges for a Racine man.

The Journal Times of Racine reports 60 year old Mark Demet admitted that he forged the names of seven people, including one who was deceased, on a petition to recall Republican State Senator Van Wanggard.

Wanggaard was defeated in that recall election by Democrat John Lehman allowing for Democrats to have control of the senate for a few months, but in the November general election, the chamber shifted back to Republican control.
