Man accused of killing wife Jennifer Sebena pleads insanity
WAUWATOSA - The man arrested for the murder of a Wauwatosa police officer changed his plea Friday.
Ben Sebena is charged with murdering his wife Jennifer, and now he claims he was mentally ill when he killed her on Christmas Eve.
Sebena entered the courtroom shackled and handcuffed. He didn’t speak, but instead his attorney did all the talking. The state said Benjamin Sebena shot his wife five times in the head while she was on duty.
“Judge, I previously entered a not guilty plea,” said Michael Steinle, Sebena’s defense attorney. “I'm going to change it to not guilty and not guilty by reason of mental disease and defect.”
Sebena will now undergo a mental evaluation. His attorney didnt say if his mental state is connected to his military service.
