The Journal Sentinel has put together a list of snow-day activities at local parks. You can find the full list here as the newspaper updates them.
Below are a couple of their suggestions.
Red Arrow Park's "Slice of Ice" rink is open 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Skating is free for those who bring their own skates, or you can rent a pair. That costs $8 for adults, $7 for those under 18. Even if the temperatures hit the mid-30s, the refrigerated ice at Red Arrow remains just fine. For more information, call (414) 289-8791.
Skating, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing are on tap at Whitnall Park, 6751 S. 92nd St. The park's warming house will have special hours Wednesday, noon to 6 p.m. Skis can be rented for $25 for the day; snowshoes are also available for $15. For more information, call Whitnall Park at (414) 525-4765.
The Mitchell Park Domes at 524 S. Layton Blvd. are open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with "The Circus Comes to Town" garden train show. The train show runs through March 10. For more information on the Domes, call (414) 257-5600.
