MILWAUKEE - A winter weather advisory has been lengthened for almost all of Southeastern Wisconsin.

It now runs from 3:00 p.m. Tuesday until 12:00 p.m. Wednesday for Milwaukee, Waukesha, Jefferson, Kenosha, Racine and Walworth Counties.  It also runs from 6:00 p.m. Tuesday until 12:00 p.m. Wednesday for Ozaukee, Sheboygan and Washington Counties.

The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha, and SE Wisconsin is for strong NE winds up to 35 mph, highs in the mid 30s and snow and sleet to develop this afternoon with less than an inch of accumulation for the evening commute.

The wind and snow will continue overnight with 2-4" of snow overnight in Milwaukee.

Expect 1-2" to the north and 3-5" south of Milwaukee.

The wind will be very gusty but this is heavy wet snow so there will not be blowing and drifting issues, but it will be hard to shovel.

The light snow and wind continues on Wednesday with an additional inch of accumulation and high temperatures in the mid 30s so the roads should just be wet.

Total accumulation for Milwaukee and Waukesha is 3-5", 1-3" to the north in Fond du Lac and Dodge Counties, and 5-7" in Racine and Kenosha Counties.

The weather quiet downs on Thursday through Sunday with more sunshine and highs around 30 and lows in thew teens. The next chance for snow is late Monday into Tuesday.
