I-794/94 roadwork one of 3 major freeway construction projects in Milwaukee
MILWAUKEE - Avoiding construction sites on the roads of Southeastern Wisconsin is becoming more difficult by the week.
New road construction is set to begin on westbound I-94, affecting even more people's commutes.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation will be improving the freeway through the 35th Street interchange to help the flow of traffic.
35th Street ramps were set to close on Tuesday.
The work on the freeway was to begin next Monday and wrap up in May.
It's one of several projects going on right now, including:
- The I-43/94 bridge project
- The Zoo Interchange project
Crews will close freeway lanes while they work on the road, so drivers will need to pay attention to construction signs.
The DOT says that there are several ways to avoid the headaches while crews work on the road.
