Storm Team 4
Winter weather advisory; snow will affect Tuesday commute
MILWAUKEE - The National Weather Service has issued a new winter weather advisory for Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha Counties and canceled a previous winter storm watch for almost all of Southeastern Wisconsin.
The advisory runs from 3:00 p.m. Tuesday until 6:00 a.m. Wednesday.
The forecast for Milwaukee, Waukesha and SE Wisconsin is for a beautiful Monday with sunshine, light wind and a high near 40.
However, another huge winter storm is pounding the southern plains with more than a foot of snow from the Texas Panhandle to Kansas City.
As the storm moves into the upper Midwest tonight, clouds and wind will increase with lows in the upper 20s.
Tuesday will be cloudy and windy with highs in the mid 30s and wind gusts over 30 mph. The snow showers will begin after 2pm with 1-2" of accumulation by midnight and another 1-2" overnight in Milwaukee.
There will be less snow, 1-2", in Fond du Lac and Sheboygan counties, and 2-4" for most of SE Wisconsin.
The southside of Milwaukee, Racine and Kenosha could see up to 6" of snow and are under a Winter Weather Advisory for Tuesday evening and Tuesday night.
Wednesday remains windy and mild with highs in the mid 30s and gusts up to 30 mph. Light snow showers will continue with an additional inch possible before the storm system leaves the area. The rest of the week is quiet and seasonably mild with highs in the lower 30s.
