Toddler Hurt in Fire in KenoshaIt appears a 14-month-old girl will be okay after she was burned during a fire in Kenosha on Tuesday morning. The fire appears to have started in the upper unit of a duplex on 13th Avenue around 9. Firefighters say the girl's 22-year-old mother may have been smoking and accidentally started a mattress on fire. There was heavy smoke and water damage to the building. Firefighters also say there were no working smoke detectors. They say because of that, this very easily could have been a deadly fire. The girl was burned on her leg, but has been treated and released. |
