MILWAUKEE - Milwaukee Police continue to investigate a domestic violence incident, and say it ended when a Milwaukee Police sergeant shot an armed suspect in a residence in the 5200 block of N. 45th Street on Thursday.

The 44-year-old girlfriend of the suspect, the 65-year-old family member of the suspect, and the suspect were all shot during the incident.

According to Sgt. Mark Stanmeyer with Milwaukee Police, their investigation shows that the sergeant fired his duty weapon four times, striking the armed suspect with each round.

"The cause of the injury to the 65-year-old family member who was trying to intervene in the domestic violence incident remains under investigation, however it is likely that one of the rounds fired by the sergeant went through the suspect, striking the family member in the arm," said Stanmeyer.

All three were treated at a local hospital and released.
