Beloit College lockdown is now over
BELOIT - Beloit College went on a voluntary lockdown Thursday afternoon after a domestic incident nearby.
According to Beloit Police, the domestic situation involved a man threatening with a hand gun. He reportedly fled the scene and was followed to his apartment, where police attempted to contact him. Police said they took the man into custody around 3:15 p.m.
According to the Rock County Sheriff's Department, there have not been any shots fired.
The school confirmed the lockdown and said it ended without incident Thursday afternoon.
