Waupun man arrested for killing wife, attempting to light himself on fire
MOUNT PLEASANT - On Dec. 25, 2012, around 12:30 a.m., the South Shore Fire Department was called to a fire on 16th Street in Mount Pleasant. As the firefighters were putting out the fire, they saw the body of a woman, badly burned from the fire.
The owners of the home said it was not occupied and no one should have been in the home, but that their son and his girlfriend, Joshua Kosterman and Stephanie Guerrero, had previously lived there.
The woman, later identified as Bianca Vite, 21, was found to have died before the fire was started. Vite was married to the brother of the Stephanie Guerrero, Joseph.
Joseph Guerrero was taken into custody by Kenosha Police on Dec. 26 on a warrant. He told officers he and Vite had gotten into an argument on Dec. 22, when she scratched him. He says he then put his hands around her neck but "I did not think I squeezed that hard." He later started the fire in an attempt to light himself on fire.
Guerrero has been charged with first-degree intentional homicide - domestic abuse assessments, arson, and mutilating a corpse.
