'Blade Runner' Oscar Pistorius charged with girlfriend's murder
JOHANNESBURG - South African "Blade Runner" Oscar Pistorius has been charged with killing his model girlfriend.
The body of 29-year-old Reeva Steenkamp was found in Pistorius' home early Thursday in Pretoria.
On Valentines Day's early in the morning, before dawn, a young model, Reeva Steenkamp, was shot dead in the home of Olympian Oscar Pistorius.
Police say that he was the shooter. They plan to officially charge Pistorius with her murder on Friday morning when he appears in a Pretoria magistrates court.
Police also say that they will oppose bail, though they're not saying why. They are also hinting that there have been previous domestic disturbances at the house.
Local media has been reporting that Oscar Pistorius shot dead his girlfriend because he believed that she was an intruder.
Oscar Pistorius is not only a sporting hero, he's an inspiration to many.
The Olympian is said to be cooperating with police. Investigators gave no motive for the alleged killing.
