NEW BERLIN - A lot of us are thinking about love today, but a licensed family therapist in New Berlin is giving tips on how to keep the romance going all year long.

Kate Ferguson says the key is pretty simple: the little gestures matter.

"It doesn't have to be monetary.  It just has to be that the other person knows you thought about them," said Ferguson on Newsradio 620 WTMJ's "Wisconsin's Morning News."

She told our Gene Mueller that successful relationships involve people who think more about their partners than themselves.

She admits, though, that it is constant work.

"Refocusing your relationship every day helps keep it going well, keep growing.  As long as you're serving the other person, that's going to make everybody happy."
